After the second edition of Airport Infra Expo, organized last week in São Paulo, Sator Eventos, responsible for the event, presents to the market its new project: Airport Infra Expo Road Show – CHILE.
Scheduled to be organized in Santiago, from 17th to 18th of October, the event counts with the support of the Chilean government and highlights the business opportunities in the local airport market.
During the road show, Sator Eventos will also organize the 1st International Seminar on Airport Infrastructure in Chile, that will promote the discussion about the main issues of the sector, and an exhibition of airports services and equipments providers. Business roundtables will also be part of the event.
354 airports. The Chilean airport network is composed of 354 public and private airports. 14 of them are part of the main network, which are localized in most of the cases in the regional capitals of the Country and were increasingly incorporating in the concession system.
The total demand for domestic and international passengers in the Country doubled in the last ten years, from 9 million in 2001 to 19.5 million in 2011. Demand is expected to continue to increase at similar rates over the next 20 years, which requires a response in infrastructure services, so that now, in terms of concessions, there is a projection of investments of over U.S. $ 600 million.
In terms of Airport Concessions, it has emerged as the main challenge the second concession tender of the main airport of the country, Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez. Since 2011 it has been developed the project that will define the work to include in the new concession, which will start by 2015 and will involve an estimated investment of U.S. $ 500 million, including the construction of a new terminal by 2017.
Besides that, since 1979, Chile has established itself as the pioneers of commercial aviation free market entry, pricing freedom and minimum intervention of authority, and seeks to create the best conditions of competition between all companies involved in air transport in Chile.
The event will count with the participation of companies from sectors such as air traffic control, communication, navigation and meteorology; ground support, construction and design, operations, environment and safety, information technology, security, business airports and cargo terminal, and will be visit by businessmen, engineers, operators, managers, technicians and senior professionals with extensive technical decision-making, and opinion-makers responsible for disseminating ideas, business contacts and future shaping of the market.
